My Heart is for You

Jesus answered, “If anyone [really] loves Me, he will keep My word (teaching); and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our dwelling place with him.

– John 14:23

When you have an affection or liking for someone, you’ll find yourself always wanting to be around that person and thoughts of them will fill your heart and mind. You’ll always be looking for a way to indicate, demonstrate and communicate your love for them.

Well, as a Christian that’s the way you should feel about God and His Word. God wants you to keep Him close to your heart. He wants you to have a heart that is perfect towards Him.

Be delighted in the things of God and be quick and ready to do His will. Once you set your deepest affections on Him, His love, grace, kindness and compassion will be greatly evident in your life.

And to be honest, life is just so much easier when you love Him and His Word is all you think about because with God there is only goodness, truth, happiness and so many other wonderful outcomes of the relationship between you and God. So, I don’t know about you but it seems like a good deal to me.

To love God is to put Him first. It is an undivided love and we should give God and His Word undivided attention. Delight in doing His will.

And you shall love the Lord your God out of and with your whole heart and out of and with all your soul (your life) and out of and with all your mind (with your faculty of thought and your moral understanding) and out of and with all your strength.

– Mark 12:30 

Declare that He is the love of your life, I know He’s the love of mine. Love Him for all that He is because He loves you for all that you are!

So focus on what God cares about and plan to give more attention to those things.

God gave His son for me, and all He asked of me was for me to love Him too. So I will love Him everyday, in every way because He’s the truth.

A relationship with God is the most important relationship you can have – embrace it everyday.
